Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education (SSAHE): A Journey of Knowledge and Excellence

Established under the esteemed Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education, located in Tumkur, was officially declared a Deemed to be University on May 30, 2008, by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India (MHRD GOI No. F.9-31/2006-U.3 (A)).

Constituent Colleges: Sri Siddhartha Medical College and Sri Siddhartha Dental College have been integral parts of Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education since June 1, 2008. These esteemed institutions have been contributing significantly to the field of medical and dental education.

Expansion and Recognition: Further expansion occurred as Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology, Maralur, Tumkur, was included as an off-campus constituent teaching unit of SSAHE on March 6, 2009, according to the notification from the Government of India (No. F.9-31/2006-U.3(A) Dtd. 16/12/2008).

Under Graduate Courses:

For admission to MBBS  / BDS :  The candidate should have passed in the  second year Pre-University or 12th standard or HSC or Equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry & Biology in respect of Medical and Dental courses as optional subjects and English as one of the language. It is mandatory, that the candidate has obtained not less then 50% of the aggregate marks or equivalent grade in the optional subjects is eligible for admission. 40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category for Medical and Dental course . .

He / She shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year for Admission to MBBS / BDS Course.(As declared by the MCI/DCI from time to time).

He/She shold qualify NEET UG Examination

For admission to  BE  : The candidate shall Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.

Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted. .  (As declared by the Government of Karnataka from time to time).

Medical/Dental:

The University is conforming to the relevant regulations/ norms of the UGC and other statutory bodies concerned. Admissions will be made on All India basis to the identical courses through a common entrance test conducted by the University. All India Entrance Test at various centers all over the country for admission to all discipline of the University. The Candidates will be admitted to various courses on the basis of merit in the entrance test. Students seeking admission should have valid entrance scores. Allotment of the course (For PG Courses) will be done by Centralized admission policy of the University.

Following are the minimum requirements for admission to Medical/Dental and PG courses:

  • The candidate should have studied and passed the courses leading to the award of MBBS/BDS Degrees in colleges recognized by National Medical Commission.
  • The candidate should have completed compulsory rotating internship.
  • He/She shold qualify NEET PG Examination.

Engineering:

M.Tech:

Admission to M.Tech Course shall be open to the candidates who have passed the prescribed qualifying examinations with not less than 50% of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations. However, in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and Group I, the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examinations shall not be less than 45%.

MCA:

Admission to Master of Computer Application Course the candidates shall have passed Bachelor Degree with not less than 50% of marks with Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science or Computer Programming or Computer Applications or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the optional or electives. However, in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category I, the marks shall be not less than 45%.
